| |
• An in-depth study of jazz
• Specialized masterclasses
• Studies in jazz theory and improvisation
• Ensemble experience in small combos

• Studies in music theory and history
• Vocalists attend two voice classes as well as master classes
• Instrumentalists receive one private lesson and specialized master
classes
• Elective classes are offered in Finale, handbells, conducting, and
more

| College Prep Track |

• Available for rising juniors, seniors, and college
freshmen desiring preparation for serious study in music
• Studies in music theory, history, and ear training
• Participants receive two private lessons and specialized master
classes
• An unedited audition DVD or VHS is required, unless the applicant has
previously been accepted to a school of music |

WHEN IS IT? June 9-14, 2008
WHERE IS IT? The beautiful Lee University
campus in Cleveland, Tennessee is centrally located in the southeastern corner
of the state, between Knoxville and Chattanooga.
WHO CAN APPLY? Students who are entering
grades 9-12 and rising college freshman and have a passion for the musical arts.
WHAT WILL WE DO? Opportunities include:
- String, wind, jazz, voice, piano and guitar ensembles.
- Devotions
- Praise and worship time
- Practice time
- Instrumental
private lessons with professional musicians
- Two voice classes for those
involved in the vocal area of the Music Lovers Track
- Handbells
- Recreation
- Classes in music theory, sight-singing, conducting, music history,
Finale & more
- Master classes in vocal and instrumental performance
- Performances by
guest artists and Lee faculty and students
- Final camp performances
- Lots of fun!
WHY SHOULD I GO? Because you want to become a
better musician: improving your skills and expanding your knowledge in a
Christ-centered environment.
WHERE WILL I STAY? Students will stay in Lee
University residence halls.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Total cost to attend Summer Music Camp is $390. There is a $25.00 registration
fee (non-refundable), but it is applied to the camp fee. A
$25.00 late fee applies after May 23rd. Please send your application early.
The fees include tuition, room, board (three meals each day), ensemble
experience, concentrated study in the chosen area of participation, and tickets
to all concerts
IS FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE?
Financial aid is available to qualified students. Please apply in writing with
appropriate rationale.
I LIVE CLEAR ACROSS THE COUNTRY. WON'T IT COST A LOT TO
TRAVEL TO CLEVELAND, TN?
Not necessarily. Most of the major airlines fly into Chattanooga and Knoxville.
Shop early and online and you can sometimes fly across the country for less than
