Staff Advisory Council

Staff Advisory Council Mission Statement

The Staff Advisory Council consists of 6 staff members who are elected every April by the Support Staff. Its functions are (1) to advise the President concerning staff interests and (2) to schedule meetings with the President to discuss staff interests and concerns. The Council may consult with other staff members as needed. Staff members may submit recommendations or questions in writing to the Council. The Staff Advisory Council will meet periodically to discuss these recommendations and any other issues pertaining to the overall development of the Support Staff. The chairperson shall be elected among these members.

Elections

Elections will be held every April by the Support Staff, with all 6 positions being voted on in one general election. Three staff members with the highest vote total, who did not serve on the Council the previous year, will be elected to the Council. Of the six members from the previous years Council, the three with the highest vote total will remain for another term, filling the three remaining spots on the new Council. No member shall be eligible for re-election to an elective committee for one year following the expiration of two consecutive terms.

The chairperson of the Staff Advisory Council, being one of the remaining members from the previous years Council, shall be elected among the new Council.
