From the library's homepage off-campus students have access to the library's catalog to find what resources the library offers. This site will also allow students who are currently enrolled in courses to have access to many subscription databases, e-journals and other electronic sources. The "username" and "password" required to sign on will be provided to students by Squires Library staff or by CAPS personnel.
Although one can find some good sources on the Internet through the use of a search engine, it is highly recommended that students use the quality materials available through the library's website. The journal databases provide indexing and (in many cases) full text of scholarly articles and other databases facilitate research. The library has a nice collection of e-books.
Books: CAPS students can request books in the library collection to be sent to them for research. The library will pay for the sending of books (usually by UPS), while the student assumes the cost of returning the materials. The check out period is 28 days which includes the time required for shipping the items. If the books are needed for a longer period of time, the student can request one 14-day extension of the due date. The cost of any lost items or overdue items will be charged to the student and no additional materials may be borrowed until the charges have been paid.
