Backyard Ministries
The “Backyard” is an educational
outreach based on the simple idea that
Christianity should make a real
difference in the everyday lives of
those touched by its call. The Backyard
Ministries team believes that the
uncomplicated, low-tech idea of genuine
Christian service—a person-to-person
connection—will change the neighborhood,
the community and the world one face at
a time. We also hold that Christian
intervention is valuable on both sides
of the helping equation. Backyard
Ministries meet every Wednesday at 4:15
p.m. in the Education Building 2nd floor
lobby. Contact Club Sponsor Dave &
Rachel Wilson
423.991.3163 for more information.

Children’s Leaders’ Association
The Children's Leaders' Association (CLA)
may be the club for you if you are a

interest in working with children!
Several opportunities are given
throughout each semester to work with
Kid’s Crusades in area churches, or in a
monthly Kid’s Night Out for the children
of our married students. Participation
in this club is an excellent way to
receive training, build connections with
local children's pastors, and/or become
a member of NCLA (National Children's
Leaders' Association) while working
hands-on with children and building
relationships with other students who
also have a burden to minister to
children. Meetings are every Monday
night at 7:00 p.m. at the top floor of
the PCSU. For more information on how
you can be involved, please contact Sara
Pennington at 423.584.2740 or

Music Ministries
The School of Music has a
well-established reputation for
excellence in choral and instrumental

commitment to minister through music.
The choral ensembles – Campus Choir,
Chorale, Chorale Union, Evangelistic
Singers, Ladies of Lee, Lee Singers, and
Voices of Lee – minister effectively
whether they sing on campus or around
the world. The instrumental ensembles
include: Chamber Orchestra, Jazz
Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic
Band, and Wind Ensemble. Auditions are
held in the School of Music during
orientation sessions until the first day
of classes. Sign-up sheets for auditions
are located in the Curtsinger Music
Building on the corner of Parker and
11th. You must sign up to audition and
you are encouraged to audition for as
many ensembles as you can. Auditionees
are chosen by the first Friday of
classes. For more information contact

Music at 423.614.8240 for information
