  PAYMENTS
  • Q.  How do I make a payment?
  • A.  You may pay by cash, check, money order, debit card, or credit card. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover.

    You may also make a payment on Lee Central. You may pay by a check or by credit card. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover.
  • Q.  Where can I pay my bill?
  • A.  You can make a payment in person in the business office, by mail, over the phone with a credit or debit card, or online through Lee Central.
  • Q.  What address do I mail my payment to?
  • A.  Lee University

  • Q.  When is my payment due?
  • A.  A down payment is due at registration.  Any unpaid charges are automatically placed on the Deferred Payment Plan.  These payments are due on the 15th of each month.
  • Q.  What happens if my payment is late or my account is delinquent?
  • A.  Payments that are 10 or more calendar days late are assessed a $20 late fee each month.

 

  REFUNDS
  • Q.  How do I get the credit off my account?
  • A.   You can either stop by the Business Office and sign a refund request form or you can fax the Business Office a request.  The request must state your account number, address, where check should be sent, and your signature.
  • Q.  Can I pick up my refund?
  • A.  No, all refunds are mailed, either to a campus box or to an off-campus address.
  • Q.  When are refunds mailed?
  • A.  Those students who receive Financial Aid over the amount of their school bill can request and receive a refund from the Business Office. You may sign for a refund as soon as there is a credit on your account. The check will take 3-5 business days to process
  • Q.  What if I do not receive my refund check?
  • A.   You can request a stop payment on a check after 5 business days from the date the check was issued.
  • Q.  Will I be refunded money if I withdraw from the university?
  • A.   If you withdraw from the university before classes begin, there will be a refund of tuition and fees.  There is no refund on Matriculation Fees, Registration Fees, or Late Registration Fees.  Please refer to our Refund Policy for specific prorated percents.
  BILLING
  • Q.  How much will it cost for tuition and fees?
  • A.  You can find out tuition and fee information in the Student's section of this page.
  • Q.  Why do I have to pay the $50 deferred payment plan fee?
  • A.  The $50 deferred payment plan fee is equivalent to a loan origination fee  This allows you to pay for your education by making payments throughout the semester by signing a Promissory Note with the university.
  • Q.  Are the residence hall and tuition charges on the same bill?
  • A.  Yes, they are on one bill.
     
  • Q.  If I elect to get a declining balance instead of a meal plan, can I put it on my student account?
  • A.  No.  You must pay Sodexho directly if you choose a declining balance instead of a meal plan.  Sodexho and Lee University are two separate entities.
  • Q.  Where do the bills get mailed?
  • A.  The bills are mailed to the student’s permanent address, unless otherwise specified.
  • Q.  How do I change where my bill is sent?
  • A.  You can change the billing address through the Business Office, or online through Lee Central. Address changes are listed in the Personal Info section.
  • Q.  I did not receive a bill. Do I have to pay the late charge fees?
  • A.  Yes, failure to receive a bill is not a valid reason to avoid late fees.
  • Q.  My financial aid is not showing up on my account. What should I do?
  • A.  It may not be in yet. If you have questions, you should contact the Financial Aid Office (423) 614-8300.
  • Q.  Can I use next semester's financial aid to pay for this semesters charge?
  • A.  No, charges must be paid for in the semester they are accrued.
  • Q.  What are general fees and why do I have to pay them?
  • A.  The Registration Fee, Health Fee, Student Activity Fee, Technology Fee, and Yearbook Fee are all mandatory fees for full time students. The Yearbook Fee is only assessed during the first semester the student attends, each year.
  • Q.  How does work study get applied to my student account?
  • A.  Work study does not get applied to a student’s account. A student receives a check for his time worked. Checks are distributed one (1) time per month. If the student wishes to apply this check to his/her account, he/she may do so upon receiving the check.
  • Q.  Are there any discounts if more than one person in a family attends Lee University?
  • A.  Yes.  There is an Application for Family Tuition Discount that is located in the Business Office.  In those cases where more than one member of an immediate household is registered full time, a 25% discount on basic tuition is permitted for all but the first student.
  • Q.  When will the money I am receiving from my Vocational Rehabilitation account (or ELIC, TSAP, Ministry to the Military, World Missions, Reading Recovery, Youth Camps and Veteran Educaitonal Benefits) come to my student account?
  • A.  The Business Office does not bill for these programs until the sixth week of the semester.  It generally takes 4-6 weeks after billing to receive the money due you.
     
  CLUB & CLASS
  • Q.  When I make a Club & Class check requisition, how long does it take to get the check?
  • A.   Your check will be ready within 48 hours of receipt of your requisition.  If there are no instructions, the check will be mailed to the vendor.
  • Q.  How do I open a Club & Class account?
  • A.  Please contact our Club & Class Manager in the Business Office.
  • Q.  Can I get money out of my Club & Class account without receipts?
  • A.  Yes, but you need a description of what the check is for and the receipts are due by the end of the month the check was requisitioned.
  • Q.  Does the account balance in my Club and Class account carry forward each year?
  • A.  Yes.  You do not lose any money at the end of each fiscal year.
     
  BOOK VOUCHERS
  • Q.  How do I qualify for a book voucher?
  • A.  If the amount you are receiving for financial aid or the amount paid on your account by the time you finalize your registration exceeds your account balance, you will be eligible for a book voucher.
  • Q.  What if I qualify for a book voucher, but do not want it?
  • A.  All students who qualify for a book voucher will receive one.  If the book voucher is not used by the book voucher cut-off date, it will be credited back to your account approximately 1 week after such date.
  • Q.  What if I do not use the entire book voucher?
  • A.  The Business Office will credit to your account any funds you do not use approximately 1 week after the book voucher cut-off date.
  • Q.  What is the maximum amount I can receive for a book voucher?
  • A.  $450.00
     
  MISCELLANEOUS
  • Q.  What is my student's ID number?
  • A.  Your student ID# is your Social Security number.
  • Q.  Where can I cash a check?
  • A.  Students with a current Lee ID may cash a personal or payroll check at the Business Office. There is a $50 limit per student per day. We do not cash student refunds or Lee University payroll checks.  Please refer to our Refund Policy for more details.
  • Q.  How do I pay for my textbooks?
  • A.  Textbooks are paid for at the bookstore at the time of purchase.
  • Q.  How can I obtain my account balance?
  • A.  You may check your account online through Lee Central or call the Business Office at (423)614-8100. The Business Office is open from 9:00 – 4:00, Monday – Friday. It is closed for Chapel Tuesday and Thursday 10:30-11:30.
  • Q.  Is there an ATM machine on campus?
  • A.  Lee University currently has two (2) ATM machines on campus.  However, refer to our section on Local Banks for information on contacting local banking facilities in town.
  • Q.  Where should my student start/maintain his checking account?
  • A.  You can find information on personal banking in the area at the Local Banks section of this page.
  • Q. Can I get a transcript if I have a past due balance?
  • A.  NO. Transcripts will not be released if an account has a balance.
  • Q. What happens when I drop a class?
  • A.  There is a $10 fee charged for each class that is dropped. If a student falls below 12 hours, there will be an adjustment made to the tuition charged to the student. Please see the Refund Policy for adjustment amounts.
  • Q.  What is the technology fee?
  • A.  The technology fee is for the creation and maintenance of the computer lab account giving you access to all of the computer labs here on campus.  It also covers up to 300 pages of printing per semester.
  • Q.  What is the computer lab fee?
  • A.  The computer lab fee, which is more commonly known as the CIS lab fee, is class specific. It is a fee associated with computer classes here on campus.
  • Q.  Is the technology fee the same as the computer lab fee?
  • A.  No. The technology fee is a mandatory fee, for full time students, each semester. The computer lab fee is only added when it applies to certain classes.
  • Q.  How do I get my Lee Central password?
  • A.  There are several steps involved when setting up your Student Email account and your Student Access System account. Click here for instructions.
  • Q.  How long do I have to pay my parking ticket?
  • A.  Tickets that remain unpaid after 2 weeks will be doubled and added to the school bill.
  • Q.  I told them at registration I did not want a yearbook. Why do I have a yearbook fee on my bill?
  • A.  The yearbook fee is a required fee that is payable only in the full first semester a student attends each year.
  • Q.  How many study abroad trips can I take?
  • A.  The Cabinet has set up a two-trip maximum for students receiving employees discounts and/or other institution awards.**  This two trip maximum applies to employees and/or family members.

  • Q.  If I have an account balance, can I make my advance class selections?
  • A.  Yes.  Your student account balance has no effect on advance class selections.
  • Q.  How many hours is considered full time for a graduate student?
  • A.  Nine (9) hours.
