  • Q.  How much will it cost for tuition and fees?
  • A.  You can find out tuition and fee information in the Student's section of this page.
  • Q.  How do I make a payment?
  • A.  You may pay by cash, check, money order, debit card, or credit card.  We accept Visa, Master Card, or American Express.

    You may also make a payment on Lee Central.  You may pay by a check or by credit card.  We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover.
  • Q.  Where can I pay my bill?
  • A.  You can make a payment in person in the business office, by mail, over the phone with a credit or debit card, or online through Lee Central.
  • Q.  What address do I mail my payment to?
  • A.  Lee University

  • Q.  When is my payment due?
  • A.  A down payment is due at registration.  Any unpaid charges are automatically placed on the Deferred Payment Plan.  These payments are due on the 15th of each month.
  • Q.  What happens if my payment is late or my account is delinquent?
  • A.  Payments that are 10 or more calendar days late are assessed a $20 late fee each month.
  • Q.  I did not receive a bill.  Do I have to pay the late charge fees?
  • A.  Yes, failure to receive a bill is not a valid reason to avoid late fees.
  • Q.  Are the residence hall and tuition charges on the same bill?
  • A.  Yes, they are on one bill.
  • Q.  Where do the bills get mailed?
  • A.  The bills are mailed to the student’s permanent address, unless otherwise specified.
  • Q.  How do I change where my bill is sent?
  • A.  You can change the billing address through the Business Office, or online through Lee Central.  Address changes are listed in the Personal Info section.
  • Q.  What is my student's ID number?
  • A.  Your student ID# is your Social Security number; however, Lee University is in the process of changing this system to protect students from the growing threat of identity theft.
  • Q.  My financial aid is not showing up on my account. What should I do?
  • A.  It may not be in yet.  If you have questions, you should contact the Financial Aid Office (423) 614-8300.
  • Q.  Can I use next semester's financial aid to pay for this semesters charge?
  • A.  No, charges must be paid for in the semester they are accrued.
  • Q.  Are there any discounts if more than one person in a family attends Lee University?
  • A.  Yes. There is an Application for Family Tuition Discount that is located in the Business Office.  In those cases where more than one member of an immediate household is registered full time, a 25% discount on basic tuition is permitted for all but the first student.
  • Q.  What are general fees and why do I have to pay them?
  • A.  The Registration Fee, Health Fee, Student Activity Fee, Technology Fee, and Yearbook Fee are all mandatory fees for full time students.  The Yearbook Fee is only assessed during the first semester the student attends, each year.
  • Q.  Where should my student start/maintain his checking account?
  • A.  You can find information on personal banking in the area at the Local Banks section of this page.
  • Q.  Will I be refunded money if I withdraw from the university?
  • A.  If you withdraw from the university before classes begin, there will be a refund of tuition and fees.  There is no refund on Matriculation Fees, Registration Fees, or Late Registration Fees.  Please refer to our Refund Policy for specific prorated percents.
  • Q.  How can I find FORM 8863, which is needed when I file my taxes?
  • A.  You can order instructions and additional forms by calling 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676).  They are also available at your local library or post office.  You can also get forms and instructions from the IRS's web site at www.irs.ustreas.gov.
  • Q.  Why did I receive a Form 1098T ?
  • A.  An eligible educational institution, such as a college or university, that receives qualified tuition and related expenses on your behalf must furnish this statement to you.  This information will help to determine whether you, or the person who may claim you as a dependent, may claim an income tax credit for the Hope credit or lifetime learning credit on FORM 8863, Educational Credits.  Parents or students should keep the form for their tax records (for proof of enrollment) if they choose to claim a tax credit.  For information about these credits, see Pub. 670, Tax Benefits for Higher Education.  See Tax Information for detailed information.
  • Q.  How can I get information for taxes?
  • A.  If you were a student between January 1 and December 31 of a specific year and had monies paid on your behalf, we will mail a Form 1098T to your billing address.  If you have a question about the forms, refer to www.1098-t.com or contact the call center at 877-467-3821.  Please see Tax Information for further details.  For other questions about your eligibility and which payments qualify, please consult your tax advisor.
