The Distinguished Alumnus Award and Honorary Alumnus Awards are presented by the President of Lee University during the annual Homecoming festivities.


Marcus Lamb
2010 Honorary Alumnus of the Year

Marcus Lamb received his degree at age 19, and graduated Magna cum laude in 1978. In 1997, he and his wife, Joni, began the Daystar Television Network, which owns and operates TV stations across the nation. Daystar is now the second largest Christian Television Network in America.
Tom Rowland
2010 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year
Tom Rowland was elected Mayor of the City of Cleveland in 1991. As the city’s longest serving mayor with 18 years, he is currently serving his fifth term. He and wife, Sandra, are members of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Nomination Procedure

Written nominations are accepted by the Director of Alumni Relations before August 10 of each year, submitting a written citation listing the nominees accomplishments and qualifications for nomination. Any alumnus or alumna of any class is eligible for nomination.
