Campus Visit Coordinator
Hello! My name is Kristen Burkett, and I am the Campus Visit Coordinator at Lee. Choosing a college is exciting, and I would love to show you all that Lee has to offer. So if you are interested in taking a campus tour, I would be happy to set one up for you!
My journey at Lee started when my sister first came to Lee. I remember setting up her dorm room and coming to stay with her over breaks. These first experiences at Lee made me eager to experience college life on my own, so when I was a junior in high school I took part in Summer Honors. After those two weeks, I felt at home on campus and loved how engaged I was by what I learned. For those reasons, I was convinced that I should come to Lee.
I began my degree in 2007 and majored in English Literature. Lee offered
so many different things to be involved in that I stayed very active on
campus. I especially enjoyed working with Freshmen students and helping
them get acclimated to university life, and so I participated as a
Gateway Peer Leader and was a Writing Studio facilitator for Freshmen
English courses. Also, during my time as an English major, I not only
had valuable learning experiences in the classroom but was provided with
opportunities to learn by attending workshops and conferences, some of
which I presented my own work. These experiences were not only good
educationally but they really helped me explore different career
options. Through these experiences and from the relationships I built
with faculty and staff I can easily say that Lee has been a wonderful
place to learn and grow.
