Shopping

Shopping in the U.S. is somewhat different from that in many other countries. The stores here are often large and offer a variety of products under one roof. The prices are fixed and bartering is not practiced, but a sales tax is added to the price tag when something is purchased. Many stores are open until 9 p.m., even on weekends, and some are open 24 hours a day. There are generally five types of stores: super stores, grocery stores, department stores, clothing specialty stores, and drug stores. Wal-Mart is a great place to shop for just about all of your needs. The store is relatively inexpensive and offers everything from clothes to tools to food. Two local malls are also worth checking out: Bradley Square Mall (Cleveland) and Hamilton Place Mall (Chattanooga)
