Expenses
Indicated on your Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 is the amount of funds you will need for the each semester at Lee University, excluding tuition and living expenses for the summer. With the exception of proper USCIS permits and limited on-campus employment, you may not work in the U.S. Please do not plan on income from working on-campus since it is limited and produces minimal income. Off-campus work is prohibited during the first year of study and severely regulated thereafter by American immigration law. No federal or state financial aid or scholarships are available to international students. You are expected to have access to the funds you showed on your Declaration and Certification of Finance throughout your period of studies at Lee University.
Upon your arrival, you will immediately need to pay for tuition, fees, optional medical insurance, housing, books, and meals for the entire semester. Students holding scholarships in athletics will also need to bring ready cash since payments are issued only after school begins.
Personal checks, cashier's checks, traveler's checks, cash, or money orders may be used to make tuition and housing payments. We suggest that you bring your funds in traveler's checks. We advise you not to carry large amounts of cash, and if you are purchasing traveler's checks, purchase checks valued at $500 or more to cover tuition, books, room and board.
