The Mission of the School of Religion is to prepare men and women for effective ministry. The school has the longest tradition of any department at Lee University. The University was founded in 1918 to train ministers for the work of the church. That same purpose continues but in a much more comprehensive way.

He feels that Lee’s policy of requiring all students to take classes in bible and theology is an excellent way to enable them, no matter their denomination or religion, to engage and understand the basic tenets of Christianity.
