    Sarah Marczynski, originally from Memphis, TN joined the School of Music staff in September 2017 after having spent seven years with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, most recently as the Community Engagement & Education Manager.

    She holds a Master’s of Public Administration focusing in Nonprofit Management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where her capstone and other work under Dr. Christopher Horne examined attendance patterns in high-art cultural institutions and network relationships between local arts agencies and cultural partners. Much of this work, as well as work on other topics, appears on Artshacker.com, where Sarah was a featured contributor for two years. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Vocal Music Education from UTC, where she studied under Dr. Kevin Ford and Ron Ulen.

    Sarah has been active in the Chattanooga arts community, singing in the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Senior Choir, the Rivermont Presbyterian Chancel Choir, the UTC Master Chorale and Reunion Singers, Voices of Reason Women’s’ Ensemble, the Choral Arts Society, and the Chattanooga Bach Choir. She serves on the board of the Chattanooga Boys Choir, has served on grant panels throughout the Southern region, and graduated from the William Holmberg Arts Leadership Institute.
