Cindy Solfest-Wallis

Flutist Cynthia Solfest-Wallis has been a professional musician and instructor for over 20 years.  She and husband, Phil Wallis, just moved to Tennessee in 2009, and she is new to the Music Faculty of Lee University, Tennessee Temple University and Cadek Conservatory of Music. 

A native of Wisconsin, Ms. Solfest-Wallis held faculty appointments at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Carroll University and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, each for several years, where she taught applied flute, technique and pedagogy classes, fundamentals of music classes, and directed the flute ensembles.  When first moving to Milwaukee, she taught at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music.

An active performing artist, she was principal flute with the Skylight Opera Theatre and Wisconsin Wind Orchestra.  She also performed frequently with the Bel Canto Orchestra and Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra, and has performed several times with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and Woodstock Mozart Festival, as well as many other orchestras in the surrounding areas.
