    Lisa P. Stephenson, PhD
    Associate Professor of
    Systematic Theology

    Stephenson joined Lee’s faculty in 2007, where she currently serves as the Director for the M.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies and Coordinator of Lee’s Benevolence Program. She received her PhD from Marquette University in Systematic Theology.

    Her areas of interest and academic research include theological anthropology, ecclesiology, political theology and feminist theology.

    Her publications include a monograph with Brill entitled Dismantling the Dualisms for American Pentecostal Women in Ministry: A Feminist-Pneumatological Approach (2012), which won the Pneuma Book Award in 2013. Stephenson has also published various essays in other edited volumes, and articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Pneuma, Scottish Journal of Theology, Journal of Church and State, Journal of Pentecostal Theology, Religions, and Pax Pneuma. In 2013, she won Lee University’s Excellence in Scholarship Award.

    Stephenson’s other academic involvements include serving on the editorial board for the Systematic Pentecostal and Charismatic Theology series, as a guest editor for Pneuma’s volume on feminist theology, and functioning as the co-chair of SECSOR’s Women, Gender, and Religion group (2011-2013).

    Stephenson is originally from Georgia. She is married to Christopher Stephenson and they live in Cleveland, TN with their daughters. She is an ordained minister in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN).
