Dr. Matthew Krepps, Associate Professor of Chemistry, teaches general, analytical, instrumental, and inorganic chemistry courses, as well as astronomy. He also serves on senior student research committees.  Krepps is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), and has presented at multiple regional and national ACS meetings. He has also written several articles for publication in scientific journals, and his research focuses on chemical education and heavy metal remediation from waste water.  Krepps earned his PhD in inorganic chemistry from the University of Kentucky.  His bachelor in biochemistry was earned at Grove City College, PA.

Beyond the classroom, Krepps is the sponsor of the Lee Cycling Club.  Students and faculty enjoy cycling on the road in warmer months.  During the winter, they bring out their mountain bikes and switch to riding on mountain, trail, and fire-roads.  The club supports many area and regional charities by cycling in sponsored events. Krepps also serves as organist for the Liturgical Chapel series as well as for the Christmas celebration service, Festival of Lessons & Carols in December.  Every December, Krepps organizes the Christmas luncheon for the department student workers and teaching assistants.  In the spring, Krepps organizes the senior banquet and liturgical communion service for our graduating seniors in the department.
