Why choose an English and Modern Foreign Languages major? A variety of degree programs offers diverse outlets for the creative mind. An English major develops critical writing, thinking, and communication skills which will facilitate success whether career goals include teaching, writing, or any of a number of commercial occupations. This major can also provide a broad liberal arts background for graduate programs in law, literature, and theology.

If you enjoy language with an international flair, you may choose a major in French or Spanish. In addition to comprehensive instruction on the university campus, there are opportunities for study abroad. You can earn foreign language credits while immersing yourself in the language and culture of another country.
