Department of Business

The Department of Business offers programs of study designed to prepare men and women for positions of leadership and success whether in graduate and professional schools or in a chosen career. The department does this by providing major programs of sufficient quality to impart to students the ethical and philosophical principles upon which our society and our economy rest and by equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary for achieving success in the business environment.

As the world of business becomes more global, so do opportunities for learning while ethical and philosophical principles remain the foundation of the Department of Business programs. Since a significant dimension of the business curriculum includes the integration of one’s faith with the discipline, graduates should demonstrate a Christian world view as they fulfill their personal vocation or profession.

A broad selection of majors include Accounting, Business Administration, Business Education/Corporate Training, and Computer Information Systems. Minors are offered in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance, and International Business. Designed to prepare students for positions of leadership in a competitive market, the major of choice will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to assume productive places in business, government, the teaching profession, and the community at large.

The Department of Business, located in Walker Memorial, serves over 500 students with ten full-time faculty members and a full-time department assistant.
