On Oct. 1, Lee University freshman Catherine Armstrong won a drawing for a $1,000 scholarship to supplement an archaeological trip to Israel. The scholarship was made possible by matching contributions from Dr. Scott Stripling’s organization (The Associates for Biblical Research) and Lee University. Stripling, director of excavations at Khirbet el-Maqatir and head of the Humanities and Foreign Languages Department at Wharton County Junior College, awarded the scholarship to Armstrong after his presentation at the Museum at 5ive Points in Cleveland. The Israel Archaeological trip, designated for Lee students, is led by Dr. Brian Peterson, assistant professor of Old Testament at Lee.
