Charlie Edholm

The Lee University School of Music will welcome solo guitarist Charlie Edholm to perform Friday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Squires Recital Hall, located in Lee’s Humanities Center.

The program will feature works by J.S. Bach, Dušan Bogdanović, and Leo Brouwer, as well as a set of pieces by three great Spanish composers, Manuel de Falla, Francisco Tárrega, and Joaquín Rodrigo.

Edholm is a guitarist, teacher, and composer living in the greater Chattanooga area. He previously studied classical guitar with Andrew Linton, jazz guitar with Shawn Perkinson, composition with Dr. John Wykoff, and he has performed in masterclasses for Manuel Barrueco and Jason Vieaux.

As a composer, Edholm’s music has been featured on a release by Poured Out Like Wine, a musical collective based in Marietta, Georgia, and in various performances at Lee University. In February 2018, he released an original composition project titled, “The Immanent Frame.” He also performed as a guest with The Brilliance during its 2014 Advent Tour.

Edholm currently serves on the adjunct faculties of Southern Adventist University and Lee University and contributes weekly to the liturgy at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Cleveland. Edholm holds a Master of Music degree in classical guitar performance from Lee.

This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
