Hiebert Center for World Christianity and Global Theology Annual Lecture at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. In his lecture, “Exploring Images of Christ from Latin America: A Latino Diaspora Perspective,” Cuellar reflects on the central challenge facing readers of the Gospels concerning the identity and the relevance of the message of Jesus Christ.Dr. Rolando Cuellar presents Cuellar discusses ways Latin American Evangelical and Pentecostal theologians have used a variety of images to describe the identity of Christ and his significance for Latin American people who live in poverty and suffering. Consequently, Latin Americans have developed a theology that fully integrates justice, peace, reconciliation, and evangelism.He invites the North American and the Latino Protestant churches in the United States to rediscover the person and the impact of the message of Christ concerning the Kingdom of God in breaking down the walls of hostility and bringing reconciliation with God and one another.
