4everPianists to Perform
4ever Pianists

The Lee University School of Music will welcome 4ever Pianists for the next installment of its Performing Arts Series taking place in Pangle Hall on Thursday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The group comprises four Lee alumnae from Taiwan who met while studying at the university.

The performance’s theme, “Making a Birthday Wish,” will tell a story through musical composition of a girl on the eve of her birthday. Audiences will hear the story of the girl unable to sleep amidst her birthday wishes and excitement.

Using two pianos, the concert will feature Tchaikovsky’s “Sleeping Beauty,” “Happy Birthday to You” arranged for eight hands, and Taiwanese folk suites.

The group’s members, Yi Ju Tsai, Yi Ching Tsai, MinFang Wang, and Ruobing Zhang, established 4ever Pianists in 2015 as four “freshly-graduated” musicians who decided to take a break from solo careers to explore the varieties of sound together. Each of the group’s performances consists of a brand new program, spanning genres from Baroque to contemporary music.

Guest composers and artists contribute to each recital, combining art and musical styles from all over the world to create a program for two pianos with a central theme. 4ever Pianist’s hope is to help audiences discover a newfound love for classical music.

The Thursday evening performance is open to the public and free of charge, but tickets are required due to limited seating and are available beginning January 25 in the Dixon Center Box Office from 3-6 p.m., Monday through Friday, by calling (423) 614-8343, or online at 4everPianists.
