Assistant or Associate Professor of Political Science

The Department of History, Political Science, and Humanities at Lee University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Political Science beginning in the fall of 2018.


The successful candidate will have a concentration in American Politics and will be expected to teach courses in American Politics, the department's university core course in American Government, and a two-course sequence in Research Methods. An ability and willingness to teach courses in Public Administration would be an asset. Additional duties will include mentoring undergraduate research, advising students in the department’s majors, developing curriculum, serving on university committees, seeking ways to serve the greater community, and working cooperatively with the Department Chair and departmental faculty.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Political Science with a specialty in American Politics, express a strong commitment to faith in Jesus Christ and Christian lifestyle expectations, indicate a commitment to undergraduate education, passionately support the Christian liberal arts, demonstrate college teaching ability, and, effectively integrate Christian faith into the academic discipline and the classroom.
