Degree Options

Bachelor of Arts degree candidates must complete six semester hours of a foreign language at the intermediate level. These hours will count as general education core credits. All students must take ENGL-106 and ENGL-110 by the completion of the 18th hour of college credit. If a student does not meet this requirement, he/she must enroll in ENGL-106 and ENGL-110 before enrolling in any additional courses.

    • A bachelor's degree in Christian Education seeks to prepare men and women for educational ministry primarily in the local church. The curriculum delivers an understanding of the various age groups and programs related to the overall life of the congregation.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Christian Leadership
    • The Christian Leadership program is specifically tailored to address the needs of full-time Christian ministers, bi-vocational ministers, and those who have adopted non-church related professions as places of service. The curriculum is purposely designed for those involved in Christian ministry at any level.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Christian Ministry - Counseling
    • The Counseling emphasis offered in the degree in Christian Ministry is designed to prepare the student for a Church-related ministry. The degree would NOT prepare the student for licensure with any state, nor would it qualify the student to practice counseling as a professional. However, the Counseling emphasis can serve as a pre-professional sequence of courses to equip students for entry level, non-credentialed, positions in mental health facilities and social service agencies or prepare them for graduate studies in counseling.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Christian Studies
    • The degree in Christian Studies is offered to facilitate a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of the Christian faith. Religion students, full-time and bi-vocational ministers, will find the program lays a solid foundation for ministry and future educational pursuits. The curriculum requires a Specialty Area of study which will include elements from four disciplines. The student may choose courses from any four of the following: Bible, Christian Education, Christian Leadership, Church History, Intercultural Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, and Theology.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pastoral Studies
    • The design of the bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Studies is to prepare individuals to serve in the positions of senior, associate, and assistant pastor. Emphasis is placed on ministry and social care based on biblical guidelines.

  • Bachelor's Degree in General Studies
    • This is an individualized degree program available to former Lee students who earned at least 90 semester hours prior to leaving Lee and have not attend the University in the past ten years. A student pursuing this major will consult with a designated advisor in the Center for Adult and Professional Studies. The completed program proposal will be submitted to the Director of CAPS for review and final approval. The student will be admitted to the major after the proposal has been approved.
