    Vice President for Administration, Professor of Music

    Walt Mauldin serves as Lee University’s Vice President for Administration and holds the rank of Professor of Music. He has completed post-doctorate work at Harvard University and Emory University, and is a noted speaker, administrator, and worship leader.

    Beginning his Lee career in 1989, Mauldin has served in diverse roles, as the vice president for Student Life (2002-2010), the Dean of the School of Music (1997-2002), Director of the Lee Singers (1989-2006), Director of Graduate Studies (1995-1998), Director of Alumni Relations (1990-1994) and founder of the Lee University Honor Choir, Honor Band, Summer Music Camp and Chapel Choir. He also established the Lee Singers Scholarship and the Penny Mauldin Memorial Scholarship.

    From 1989 to 2006, Mauldin directed the Lee Singers in hundreds of concerts and church services throughout the United States, and has toured Greece and Turkey (2006), Italy (2005), Australia, Fiji, and Canada (2004); Hawaii (2003); Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, and Tortola (2002); South Africa (2001); England, Scotland and Wales (2000); the Cayman Islands (1999); China (1998); Canada (1997); England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and France (1996); California (1995); Bermuda (1994); Korea, Philippines, and Hawaii (1993); Russia (1992); Bahamas and Canada (1991); and England, Scotland, France and Belgium (1990).

    Mauldin's interests include both water and snow skiing, scuba diving, weightlifting, team sports and running. Recently he competed in Nashville’s Music City Half-Marathon. He enjoys traveling throughout the world and experiencing other cultures.

    Mauldin was married to Tammie on September 4, 2010. They share three sons: Jeremy Mauldin, Ryan Mauldin, and Joel Scoggins, and one daughter, Shanda Harris. Between the two of them, they also have seven grandchildren: Audra, Gavin, Lana, Lane, Natalie, Riley, and Sydney.
