In the College of Education, students receive personalized classroom instruction from highly qualified professors in technology-rich classrooms. Underscoring the College’s commitment to academic excellence, all undergraduate teacher license programs and all graduate education programs are NCATE-accredited, and the athletic training education program is CAATE-accredited.
The nationally-accredited College of Education includes the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education (ECESE); the
Department of Health, Exercise Science, and Secondary Education (HESSE); and Graduate Studies in Education. Both undergraduate departments as well as the graduate MAT program equip aspiring teachers with theoretical perspectives, practical classroom experiences, and licensure opportunities necessary to become highly qualified and effective educators. And the Graduate Program in Education further enhances these qualifications, setting students apart as highly competent educators.
Clinical experiences, including student teaching and internship opportunities, as well as cross-cultural education experiences, enable teacher candidates to gain first-hand classroom experience under the mentorship of experienced teaching professionals. And the Lee University Developmental Inclusion Classroom (LUDIC), along with Camp Spectrum and the Autism Symposium, encourages the development of teachers experienced in meeting the needs of a diverse learning population. Graduates leave well equipped to excel in a variety of classroom settings.
With minor, major, and graduate-level courses of study, current and future educators will find the specific program most appropriate for reaching their individual professional goals.
